QuestionQUESTION: hi,
i am Dan, age 13 and i try to be a really good Christian because i love God.My sister, mum and dad aren't Christians so they wouldn't understand. My sister and i each year do a Christmas bazaar on the village green. She runs loads and that is why we cant do it on a Saturday.Would i be a bad Christian even if i made time to pray to have the sale on a Sunday. We give a small amount to charity. Thanks for your time
ANSWER: The reason the early church observed the first day of the week i.e. sunday as the day of worship is because the Lord rose from the dead on a sunday...
Mark 16:9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.
Acts 20:7 On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight.
1 cor 16:2
On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.
However, having said that it is important to note that we are no longer under law but under grace...
Romans 6:14
For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.
There is no commandment in the New Testament saying that Christians have to worship on any particular day. But we should set aside one day for worship preferably on a sunday (as examplified by what the early disciples did).

QUESTION: Sorry if i seem silly here but does that mean i can do the sale ,
Thanks once more
AnswerLike I said in my reply, there is no law to say that you cannot do business on a sunday. We need to reserve one day of the week for worship and sunday was the exemplary day chosen by the early Christians. Having said that Christmas is another issue and this is not a Scriptural event.
