Christianity -- Christian Living/healing/ false teaching

Question
I have been to a study recently several times.  The leader is making a statement that God will allow sickness in us to bring us closer to Him.  That healing is up to Him.  I know this is not true.  I want to talk to this person but what scripture would be the best?  He also has been making statements that we should not command sickness to go etc. It is Gods job.  Now I believe I know what verses to use for that one.  Help me please. It grieves my spirit to hear stuff like this.  Our Savior died to free us and we get teaching to keep us in bondage.  Thanks and blessings

Answer
Greetings, in the name of Jesus, the christ...

All I can offer you, is to allow him to believe what he wants...
when it comes to his spreading of lies...thru his teachings...just pray for him, asking God to open his eyes of his understanding what thus saith the Lord.

As for him teaching that garbage, there are plenty of passages that teach us to BECOME LIKE Jesus...as a matter of fact, Jesus even said
in John 14:12      "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

Now this is a direct quote from the KJV.  Jesus performed miracles everyday...healed the sick, the blind and the lame etc.
If he says we will do even greater works than He did...you can take it to the bank.

Hope this helps
In His Service, and Love

Expertise

My main expertise is in Prophecy. I have a B.A. degree in Religion and Church Ministry from a school for Prophets, out of Jacksonville, Florida. I am also quite versed in the Bible as a whole. I am a non-denominational Christian, due to my belief that God never meant for different denominations... there is ONLY one religion (as the word of God says). I consider this to be an excellant way to witness the glory of God to others, and to further His Kingdom, and purposes...before the soon return of His Son, Jesus.
