AboutKimberly Lemler (Pastor/Teacher) Expertise As a non-denominational ordained minister I would like to help you see that our walk with Christ is not a "religion", but a "relationship". Not many Christians understand what a "believer" really is and how awesome this walk can truly be, if we learn our authority in Christ. Ask me anything and I will be happy to share His Word with you...

Question Hi, Kimberly
I have another question. I have asked a question about marriage before and contacted your website. thank you for offering help. i am looking forward hearing from you. sorry for bothering you with another question.
I am a Christian but my mother, dad and my brother are not. They don't believe in God. My grandparents have died and were not believers. I agonize myself wondering if all my family will be in hell. I know my mom, dad and my brother still have a chance to get saved, but what about my grandparents? After death will they have a chance to accept Jesus as their savior? They were born and lived in Russia and even if they heard the gospel from somewhere nobody ever explained anything to them. The Christianity was prohibited by government in Russia for long time, as a result we have a lot of atheists there. I just feel that every person should get an equal opportunity to learn about Jesus. I heard from some Christians before that there is no excuse for anyone not to know about God and not be saved. But just knowing there is God is not enouph for salvation. How can those people in some countries who never heard the Gospel can be saved even if they do believe in God? I also wonder how i will ever be happy in heaven if my family would go to hell.?
I was fortunate to come to United States and learn about Jesus. But my grandparents never had that opportunity.
What do you think about this, based on the Bible?
I thank you so much for your time.
Natasha
Answer Hi Natasha,
Just a little over 2 years ago, I had a brother, mother and father who were not saved. For many years I had been praying and claiming their salvation, calling forth the laborers to share the good news with them. Two years ago, my mother was saved a few weeks before her death. This past year, my father gave his life to the Lord. They were both in their 80's. My brother is not yet saved and I continue to pray for him...
It is important to understand that everyone has free will to choose Jesus. The only thing we can pray is for the Holy Spirit of adoption be sent to the unsaved. We know that this prayer will be answered every time. The people themselves then need to make the choice to accept or reject. Sadly, there will more people in hell than heaven, as the Bible says that the way to hell is broad and the path to heaven is narrow and few will find it.
There have been missionaries in Russia for centuries. The gospel has been taken through that country by way of the underground church or today, openly. You do not know for certain what your grandparents confession was right before they died. They may have heard the good news and accepted in their hearts!! That's why we can never judge the salvation of others.
Here is an interesting scripture:
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse." (Rom. 1:18-20)
Everyone has the longing inside of them to learn about God. It is born in all of us. God will make sure that every person on this earth has the chance to hear the good news...whether by way of a person, by way of an angel, or by way of speaking directly to their spirit. God has it covered and we need to trust Him on this one...
Yes, you will be happy in heaven, even though family members may be in hell. God will take of this...
Nobody has a chance, after death, to accept Jesus. It must be done before we die. We cannot pray people out of hell or purgatory (which does not exist). It sounds good, but it does not line up with the Bible.
Just stand believing that your relatives will accept Jesus and stop agonizing over this. It depletes your precious time and energy. Start focusing on living for the Lord and being an example to everyone around you. Let His light shine through you so others will see the Spirit of the Lord living through you. The goodness of God draws men to salvation...
