Question
Why do atheists mock Christianity and the Bible?

Answer
John,

Apparently I never sent the answer that I had written for your question. For this I apologize.

The question is very important. Remember that Jesus said, "They have hated you, because they first hated me. So don't think it strange" (paraphrased). The atheist doesn't like the idea of being accountable to God or to anyone else. Their whole world would be turned upside down if they ever came to believe that there is a God that loves them...the same God that created the Universe and beyond.

If the Atheist ever concedes that there is a God, they must acknowledge where that information came from. We have God's Word that has declared God to us through the law and the prophets. We also have God's creation, that declares the glory of the Lord, even His Eternal Godhead. We also have the Son of God, who is the express image of the Father, and is indwelt with the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

To acknowledge one, is to be required, through reasoning that all are true. That would place them in a position of being responsible to this God for the things that they have wrong in their lives. That is the part that really stinks to them, because they cannot conceive that this same God, that is their judge, is also the one that sent His only begotten Son, that they might find forgiveness and eternal life, through faith in Him.

Our responsibility is simply to be witnesses to His great grace and love, to His Son, who dies for their sins and was raised the third day, and to the fact that He is alive forevermore and will judge the nations. If we continue to be faithful to be good witnesses of Christ, then God will use that witness to bring men and women to Himself. I have witnessed it firsthand on several occasions. Be faithful, and leave the results to God.

Expertise

I seek to help Christians in doctrinal matters. Many Christians think that doctrine doesn`t matter, yet the Scriptures indicate otherwise. It is my desire to share from the Word of God with those who have legitimate questions. As such, I cannot claim expertise, except that I will seek to answer from the Authority (the Bible). If I cannot find a Biblical answer, I may offer an opinion based upon my understanding of Scripture, or I will simply reply with an, "I Don`t Know".
