Question
I have always had the belief that modesty was virtue. My dear "christian" friend is also a nudist? Is this wrong?

The simple answer to your question is an astounding, "YES!!!"
The Scriptures make it perfectly clear that our conversation (lifestyle) should be a lifestyle of purity and modesty. We should not flaunt ourselves to others in any way that could be a temptation to them to cause lust in their heart to blossom. The Lord calls us to seek to honor the Lord in everything that we do. Presenting our body to others is nothing more than a dangerous game that can lead others to wander. I wonder the reasoning behind your friend's actions and thoughts. Apparently they have been presented this information from someone that is not seeking their best interest.
The passage that comes to my mind in this situation is found in Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

| Comment | I appreciated Phillip Senn's answer very much. It was not only knowledgeable but non judgmental and biblical. I did not intend to judge either but was curious if a "good, God loving Christian" could also be a nudist. I have no intention of doing anything with the answer as I would never cause my friend to stumble over something I might say in the wrong way. Thank you again for your answer. Yes, I would refer Phillip to my friend for biblical answers that don't seem to be biased by any one religion but by the bible. Laurette | ||
