Ok, so im 17 and all my life i have had feelings and visions threw dreaming. Im not really sure but it really freaks me out... I am Christian and i asked God to reveal my dream and make it clear so that i could understand, Thats just what he did. I had the WORST dream of my life and woke up in the middle of the night something told me to get my brother and get out of the house... The next morning i returned home and someone had broken in and stole a little of everything, worst thing is they came threw my window. So really i just would like an understanding of what a prophet really is and could they still exsist to this day.

p.s my Grandfather told my mother when i was little to keep me in the church because im a prodigy, a child prophet. Hope that helped a little oh also i knew something bad was going to happen the day Michael Jackson died im also a Sagittarius if that means anything.

Greetings, in the name of Jesus, the christ...

First of all, please allow me to explain about the office of prophet;
there are actually two offices, not one...but they both have the gift of prophecy.

One office is:

to hear directly "audibly" the voice of God Himself, and speak what "thus saith the Lord" on any specific subject, to a specified people.

The other office:

is to take God's word (the bible) and speak "thus saith the lord God"
thru it, by the Holy Spirit.

You must be very careful to distinguish between the both, and also make sure that it is NOT coming from the devil, because he can also influence thru dreams.

Now, from your email it would seem that it is possible that you are a prophet, (one in training,at least). But I would require of God some more on this issue. One of the best ways to do this, is to PRAY and FAST... for 3 days. Staying in the Spirit throughout.  You can swish water around in your mouth to say, rinse out after brushing your teeth, but do not swallow a drop. After coming off your fast, pray one more time asking God for His answer. In what I personally experienced, you will get your answer quickly.
