what if a christain denies jesus and turns their back on god.

Your question lacks a context.
Are you asking about the doctrine of eternal security, about exclusion from churches or what?
If you are concerned that you have done this and are now possibly rejected by God, don't worry. God is merciful. Simply, sincerely, repent and rededicate your life to His service.
