Christianity -- Christian Living/spiritural gifts
Expert: Kit Goins - 2/5/2010
QuestionI have a friend that says he has the gift clarvoyance, the ability to move small ovjects and can see the arura around people, just to name a few.
He is a Christian, with a high school education. He is interested in learning what to do with his gifts in a christian way. I have told him that that is no quick course in this vast subject. Where can I begin to tell him what he needs to do. What can he read, of course he is in the Bible dailey. I told him to start with his minister first.
This is what I have told him to do:
1. You have gifts, true!
2. There is no quick reading on this subject.
3. Education is a must before you continue.
4. If you want to develop your gifts you have to go to school and study the whole of religion and not just parts of what you think your interested in.
5. Read Kit Goins background and how he has research the subject.
6. You have to be very careful and not get into the evil side of your gift.
7. Because it is a difficult subject you have to research all of the direction this gift is leading you to.
8. There are hundreds of stories and hundreds of different answers.
9. I don’t want you to believe from what others have told you what you should do.
10. Remember your grandmother first, and those who love you most. Remember those with educational knowledge over amateurs with quick answers.
11. Continue to pray about this.
AnswerGreetings in the name of Jesus, the christ...
Holy Spirit dwells in men (spiritually, not bodily) and still does:
Romans 8:1-16, 1Corithians 3:16-17
These are the gifts given:
1Cr 12:1 Now concerning spiritual [gifts], brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
1Cr 12:2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
1Cr 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
1Cr 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
] 1Cr 12:5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
1Cr 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
1Cr 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
1Cr 12:8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
1Cr 12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
1Cr 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
1Cr 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
1Cr 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also [is] Christ.
] 1Cr 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1Cr 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many.
1Cr 12:15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
1Cr 12:16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
1Cr 12:17 If the whole body [were] an eye, where [were] the hearing? If the whole [were] hearing, where [were] the smelling?
1Cr 12:18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
1Cr 12:19 And if they were all one member, where [were] the body?
1Cr 12:20 But now [are they] many members, yet but one body.
ed of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
1Cr 12:22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
1Cr 12:23 And those [members] of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely [parts] have more abundant comeliness.
1Cr 12:24 For our comely [parts] have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that [part] which lacked:
1Cr 12:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but [that] the members should have the same care one for another.
1Cr 12:26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
1Cr 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
1Cr 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
1Cr 12:29 [Are] all apostles? [are] all prophets? [are] all teachers? [are] all workers of miracles?
1Cr 12:30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
1Cr 12:31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
From what you have said ...it sounds to me, that what you or he thinks is a gift,
is not a gift from God ...but from satan. You must be very cautious with what you
believe is from God...first of all whatever you ask from God should be confirmed
by the mouth of two or three witnesses. These people should be able to confirm
this or that is from God.
Deu 19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
Mat 18:16 But if he will not hear [thee, then] take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
2Cr 13:1 This [is] the third [time] I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

You must understand that whatever you receive from God ...can be decieved
by satan. Satan takes what God gives, as good, and twist it around and makes it evil.
A good example of this, is astrology, God made the stars for our good and benefit.
We use them for navigation, among other things.
Satan twist that around into horoscopes for daily living...
I would wait on God to confirm to him his ministry...and he will be patient.
Their is no such gift as; clarvoyance, the ability to move small objects and can see the aura around people. Sounds more like witchcraft, if you ask me.
Hope this helps
In His Service, and love
bro. Kit
