Question
QUESTION:
hi there
sir i am a 30 yrs Muslim boy from India.i got schooling in a convent school thus have a pleasure of having Christian teachers and friends.
sir i look Christianity is most close to Islam as we believe Jesus(esa alais salaam) is one of our prophet in Islam.
i have seen several postures of mother marry and in every one she is dressed with dignity.
my question is that if christians follow Jesus and mother marry then why don't they dress morally why they wear short skirts and all promoting nudity.

ANSWER: Shadab,

Unfortunately, you have been presented a false impression of Jesus Christ. He is NOT JUST a prophet. He is indeed a prophet of God, but He is much more than that. He is the (not a) SON OF GOD. The God of Israel (The God in the Holy Scriptures) is not Allah. The God of Israel defeated the armies of those who were not his followers.

I do not say this in a mean spirited way, but simply am relating the truth of God's Word to you, in love.

Your education, at the hands of the Roman Catholic Church, may have been tainted with paganism, which is a trait that often accompanies the Roman Catholic Church's teachings. That is one reason they elevate Mary to the position of prominence in their "church". As true believers in Christ, we do not elevate Mary above that which Scriptures declare of her, that she is a woman that is blessed above all other women. She is dependent upon God's blessings, as are all people that seek to follow God's teachings.

Finally, and in answer to your question, many wonderful believers are in the world, and have been influenced by the world in fashion and in some cases, by society more than of God. It is not the Christian's position that we do everything that God says to do. That is why we need the Saviour, Jesus. He died to pay the penalty for sin that we were supposed to have to pay. While He was perfect in all He said, thought and did, we are not. We look forward to the day, at His return in the clouds, to be made perfect, even as He is perfect. Until then, we have this treasure in earthen vessels, but then in a Heavenly vessel that cannot displease God. There are many of those wonderful believers that do see a need for utilizing dress codes that honor the Lord, and those that are committed in that area are to be commended. But to group all Christians together and say Christians don't follow a dress code is wrong.

The greater question is this, If doing something against the teachings of Quran is sin, and man is held accountable toward God for his sin, what will satisfy God's demand for payment for that sin. As I understand Islam, one must make payment for their sins (this is atonement). According to Islam, how much payment would satisfy Allah? In Christianity, only DEATH is the payment for sinning against God (Jehovah is the English spelling of who He is). Jesus Christ made that payment for all that would trust in Him. ALL OTHERS, regardless of how good they try to be, or how many acts of atonement they attempt to please God with, are condemned because they rejected the payment that Jesus made for them.

I doubt that you heard that when at the convent or in the teachings of Muhammad, but a careful reading of the Holy Scriptures will show that I speak the truth in love.

QUESTION: thanks a lot 4 ur reply.
but this the the most disturbing fact ie why should jesus pay 4 others sins.one one pay pay 4 other.
in islam we belive every one is accountable to himself,to his wrong doings.it is upto Allah whom he forgives and who he punish.he can forgive every believer as is the most merciful and forgiving.
another thing is that messengers of god can not be killed......this is one of the quality of them,we can not kill them....

ANSWER: Shadab,

Jesus died for all mankind for one reason, He is God in the flesh. He is the embodiment of God Himself. He is not JUST a prophet. He came, took all of man's sins upon Himself, and paid the debt that was owed. Allah requires a payment, but doesn't love enough to make a sacrifice himself. Jehovah paid with the death of the Son of God, his own Son, so that you and I could be set free from our sins, and have eternal life through faith in Jesus.

Muhammad was killed. Perhaps not by another person, but he died as a result of something. Was he a messenger of the true God? Jesus willingly laid down His life. He even declared, no MAN taketh my life from me. I willingly lay down my life for my friends. He had that kind of love for mankind. This kind of love, to pay for someone else's sins, can only found in God. Man can lay down his life for a cause of many other people. We see that in policemen that stand in the way of an attacker so that others can go free. But ONLY a sinless perfect sacrifice can offer himself, through death, in the place of man's sins. That is what Jesus did, and He did it as a sinless one, to take the sins of you and me.

When has anyone in the Islam religion loved you with this type of love? Never!! But the God of Israel, the God of the Bible, Jehovah, loves you that much. He loves with a perfect love, totally willing to sacrifice Himself, in order that you might come to trust Him and rely upon His promises of Eternal Life.

In Islam, based upon what I have read in other sources as well as what you have said, there are no real guarantees of Eternal Life, only a faint hope that Allah may forgive you and show mercy upon you. In Christianity, we have a certain hope, for God (Jehovah) has made certain promises concerning Eternal Life. Everyone that comes to Jesus, through faith in His sacrifice and in who He is, receives Eternal Life, and becomes a son of God through that faith.

I hope this has helped you to see that God loves you, and that He offers you a free gift of Eternal Life through Jesus Christ.

my view:off course mohammed(peace be upon him)love the mankind as he showed us the correct path of life,he teaches us how man can became a human being.he teaches us the path that attracts  god love and told us to stay away from the path which attracts god's displeasure.

Answer
Shadab,

Thank you for expressing what you believe Islam to teach. Unfortunately, there is still that nagging question, "Will Allah show kindness and mercy to me... am I pleasing enough to him?"

Without an answer to that question, you cannot know for sure whether you will be blessed and enter Eternal Life.

Christianity teaches that our sin debt is PAID IN FULL. Yet that love that God has shown us through His Son, Jesus, causes us to love Him more, and causes up to want to please Him, rather than pleasing ourselves. Thus, He influences us by His love to want to love Him back.

But when we fail to properly show our love to Him, He doesn't hate us and seek our destruction. Rather, as a loving FATHER, He provides instruction and kindness to bring us back into His will. The love of God is a powerful tool that He uses perfectly. To learn to love others in this manner is the greatest goal of any believer. Even Jesus said, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God... The second commandment is like the first... Love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

Again, I appreciate you sharing your beliefs, and allowing me to share mine.

Expertise

I seek to help Christians in doctrinal matters. Many Christians think that doctrine doesn`t matter, yet the Scriptures indicate otherwise. It is my desire to share from the Word of God with those who have legitimate questions. As such, I cannot claim expertise, except that I will seek to answer from the Authority (the Bible). If I cannot find a Biblical answer, I may offer an opinion based upon my understanding of Scripture, or I will simply reply with an, "I Don`t Know".
