Question
Hi, I am a Christian animal-lover. Though I'm against animal testing and pro for those highly advanced technology that allows people to research for cures, I still understand God loves humans more than animals. I am wondering, is it a sin to love an animal more than myself? Crazy, but is it? I mean, in my homeland, animals get run over by a car all the time, and if it were my pet, I'd jump in and save their life. Is it a sin to see your pet rat equal with your neighbors? I know it's not a sin helping humans and not animals, but what if you're helping animals more than the little children whose starving? I mean, there are more child helpers than animal helpers. I want to be an animal helper. I just want to make sure my goal for creating an animal friendly world (that's okay with God, of course) is not a sin!

Answer
Greetings in the name of Jesus...

Although myself i also love animals...based on my knowledge
of God's word, I've never seen anything saying that it is sin.

But, you must remember that in genesis, God placed us over the animals in ranking...so with this, I would say, that you should care more for a human child than you would an animal.

If you place an animal before a child in helping, then I am not sure it would be considered sin (so to speak), as we know its definition - that being "missing the mark"...but I sure would classify it as wrong.  Humans come first...in God's eyes.

I hope this helps..
In His Service, and Love

Expertise

My main expertise is in Prophecy. I have a B.A. degree in Religion and Church Ministry from a school for Prophets, out of Jacksonville, Florida. I am also quite versed in the Bible as a whole. I am a non-denominational Christian, due to my belief that God never meant for different denominations... there is ONLY one religion (as the word of God says). I consider this to be an excellant way to witness the glory of God to others, and to further His Kingdom, and purposes...before the soon return of His Son, Jesus.
