Question
My fiancee and I are recently engaged and are looking for some guidance and advice on intergrate our faiths into our new life together.  He is Catholic and I am Baptist.  We visited a Methodist church this weekend and like it, however, we need some clarification on how to gain knowledge about the differences between Protestants and Catholics.  Also, what will converting to a Protestant religion mean for his Catholic upbringing?  Such as ceremonies, sacraments, etc...  Please help!

Answer
Greetings in the name of Jesus,

First let me say, that I'm only a NON-DENOMINATIONAL christian. I consider myself only to be a follower and/or disciple of Jesus. And in no way do I purposely wish to offend anyone.

This is a little beyond what I wish to discuss with others, simply because I do not like to offend others...but, because there is so much need for speaking the WHOLE truth (not just HALF of it, as so many preachers and teachers are doing these days)  I have no other choice but to obey my Lord Jesus and speak it, no matter what. So please bear with me, and have ears to hear....and eyes to see.

First and foremost, there is no such thing as "denominations" in the christian faith...neither is it written and/or taught in God's word as such.

The whole idea behind denominations is brought about by our common enemy satan, the devil.  Allow me to offer the following, as common sense logical proof;  WHAT is the best way to conquer an army? Think on this for a minute....

The best way (and most generals know this) is to DIVIDE them up into smaller groups.  If you divide them up they become easier to conquer, don't they?  Well the devil is doing the same exact thing in and thru these so-called denominations.

NO WHERE in God's word does it command us to "split up" into different denominations of different belief systems. It IS taught that we are a "body of christ" as a whole. What would happen if our bodies were split apart?

Do you know a couple of more names of satan, is "the father of lies"; and the "author of confusion".
He'll take what God meant for our good, and twist and turn it around for "his" good.

So, to answer your question(s), I would simply ask you both (based on what I just said) what decisions do the TWO of you, decide for yourselves to do?

And if this doesn't help, then I can only say this:

From what I know and have learned from all the different denominations...the catholics tend to place more importance, on MARY the mother of Jesus, then they do on Jesus Himself. It is taught in God's word that there is only one mediator between God and man, and that is Jesus. Also the priest can not, nor will ever be commissioned to forgive sin. These are just a couple of mis-teachings in the catholic religion.

There are also diferences in every denomination, I do not want to pick on only the catholics, here. I was brought up a baptist, and today, I want nothing to do with that sect, other then trying my best to share with them what i've shared with you. One of the major reasons this world is like it is today, is so many of us are practicing a "religion", NOT a "WAY OF LIFE"...Jesus is the WAY, the truth and the light.

My suggestion is to find a non-denominational church, and stop practising a denominational religion. Be a follower of Jesus.   AMEN?

In His Service, and Love...
Bro.  Kit

Expertise

My main expertise is in Prophecy. I have a B.A. degree in Religion and Church Ministry from a school for Prophets, out of Jacksonville, Florida. I am also quite versed in the Bible as a whole. I am a non-denominational Christian, due to my belief that God never meant for different denominations... there is ONLY one religion (as the word of God says). I consider this to be an excellant way to witness the glory of God to others, and to further His Kingdom, and purposes...before the soon return of His Son, Jesus.
