Question
Dr. What is the purpose of Gods salvation? Why does He offer it, and to what means and end?

Dr. B.

Answer
God's purpose for salvation can be summed up in the verse John 3:16...

John 3:16-17
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
NIV

God's Love is also called 'agape' love - a selfless love that emanates from the will (rather than from the emotions). It is not unconditional because it requires repentance and faith to appropriate.

In the world we are used to deals and bottom lines but in the bible the word used is "Grace" which means the "unmerited favor of God". The Son of God, Jesus came to earth as a human being to suffer and die for our sins. Only a sinless person can atone for the sins of fallen MAN.We do not deserve this.
Why did He do this? The Bible says because He first loved us..
1 John 4:19
19 We love because he first loved us.
NIV

Means to an end? God is not a businessman out to make a quick buck. He offers eternal life in the Name of His Only Son. On our part it is repentance, faith in the Lord Jesus and a walk in accordance with His Will until we reach the final destination. His offer far exceeds our acceptance.
