Actual Jesus was a Rabbi.  A formal education during Jesus' time consisted of learning the Torah (the first five books of the bible).  This education started at the age of six.  The first phase of education was called "bet sefer" (meaning house of the book) and would have continued until he was 12.  At that time a student would have begun studying the oral interpretations of the Torah.  At this stage Q&A between student and teacher was common (Luke 4:42,46).  The next level of education which started between the ages of 13 to 15 was called "beth midrash" (meaning house of study).  This was similar to our secondary schools and was only for gifted students.  Which we know Jesus was (Luke 2:41-47).  Here students learned how to apply the Torah and oral traditions to everyday life.  Those who were not chosen for "beth midrah" were returned home to their families to learn the family business or trade.  From "beth midrash" the truly gifted were chosen to travel and study with a famous Rabbi as a "talmid" (disciple).  Again we know that Jesus' was truly gifted in the scriptures.  He would have left home and followed his Rabbi anywhere he went.  A talmid would have continued to travel with his Rabbi until such time that he was consider a Rabbi.  Which was usually around the age of 30.  Which is when Jesus reappears, gets baptized, spends 40 days and 40 nights in the desert fasting (Mat 4:1-17) before starting his ministry (at the age of 30).  The bible tells us that it was cutomary for Jesus to teach in the synagouge (Luke 4:14-16).  This would not have been allowed if he were some regular Joe Smoe off the street.  How many Pastor's today will let some stranger (unlicensed, untrained) come in off the street and teach and or preach to his/her congregation?  I dare ay known.  So it stands to reason that religious leader who were willing to persecute Jesus for healing a cripple man on the sabbath (John 5:9-16) would have seriouly frowned on a common untrained man "teaching" in the synagouge.

There is a slight hole in what you said. Jesus never claimed to be God or the son of God. Other said He was, but He never claimed to be. This doesn't say for sure that He was an official Rabbi, but it is very likely that he was. As for being married to Mary, that is also very likely.

Yes, Jesus was charged exactly as he would have been. I'm not sure where the Pastor got the idea that Rabbis could be executed in a Roman empire? He could receive lashings, he could be tried, he could even be jailed. He was. He was also passed on to the Roman system for execution. Jesus was a Rabbi, was acknowledged as such in original text (of which the King James incorrectly REMOVES such verbage) and the mystery of his marriage was not a mystery at all to the Jews who penned him "Rabbi" as all jews knew exactly what that entailed. The "mystery" has always beeen inserted on the Christian versions of history, just as they do when merging with Pagan traditions (EASTER, the Trinity, etc...) Ignorance.

Jesus being called Rabbi is a bit like the Bible being called the Word of God rather than the words of God.  Jesus, as the Living Word is not just an educator or Teacher - He is All Knowledge - He is All Things to All Men.  To call Him Rabbi does not even begin to encompass what He is, but it is my own personal conviction, born from many years of study and meditation, that He was not only the Last Adam, but also the Last Rabbi.  He said all who come before Me are liars and thieves - He was not talking about the prophets who preceded Him  but all who come in place of Him as Vicars.  There is only One Shepherd, One Savior, One Seed, and One Lord or Kurios over all, by whom All things consist and whom All things serve.

He sent a comforter/teacher - your own personal Jesus, your own personal Rabbi, to teach and guide and to lead you into All Truth - when maturity comes, we know even as we are known.  Seek Jesus, and avoid those who come in His name saying, He is or I Am - and shall deceive many - learn to hear Jesus for yourself and to know is voice, and the4 voice of another you shall not hear.  In my life, I have heard only a handfull of truly anointed helpers - those who in the appreciation of Christ gain an ever increasing entry into the Kingdom and lead others by their example, not by their dictates, duplicity and delusion.  Antichrist means in place of Christ - and so does Vicar, therefore call no man Rabbi or Father - for One is Father and One is Rabbi - God is One and He will have no other before Him or in place of Him.

Read Acts 20 very carefully and ask yourself, am I submitted to Jesus Christ or to a man?

By their fruit(lessness) you shall know them.
