Christianity -- Christian Living/hearing from the other side?

Questionperhaps my question is not so much a question as a request for some agreement from one who has more credentials than myself. i have a situation with my in-laws that is causing grief in my family. my sister-in-law has recently been receiving "revelations" from her grandfather, who has been dead for quite a few years. her parents are taking these revelations as gospel truth and expect my husband and myself to do the same. the problem that i have is that, number one, she began receiving these revelations after visiting a "christian" psychic which i believe to be no more than witchcraft. secondly, i believe that Bible patterns bring Bible results and the only place i can find that the dead ever spoke was in I Sam when the witch of endor called up Samuel, and even this i wonder if it was actually Samuel or another familiar spirit. i believe that God speaks to and leads His children, but i do not believe that He does so through the dead. i must tell you that the grandfather was a great man of God and a strong leader in a Godly community. though i do not know him personally, from all my husband tells me of him, i'm sure he would roll over in his grave if he knew what the people he taught were doing and believing. my husband and i are praying diligently about this. we do not want to be blasphemous and say that a word is not from God if it is, but i cannot believe that anything that originated from a psychic is of the Spirit of God. Our source of grief is from the fact that when my husband confronted his father about this, he became very angry and simply said that my husband is being rebellious and wanting to do his own thing. my husband believes that we have alienated ourselves from them and we have always been a close knit family. i have gathered some scriptures, but i was wondering if you had some that i could use and even if we should attempt to dispute the matter or just leave it alone and walk in the truth that we know to be right. my husband and i attend a non-denominational church that teaches from the KJV only and have both attended Bible college. this being said we know we don't have all the answers and want to be in the center of God's will.
AnswerGreetings, in the wonderful mighty name of Jesus, the Christ...
Praise God ...for you both, and for His Holy Spirit guideing
you into the truth of His word.
After what you've told me about yourselves, I have no doubt that you already know the answer to this.
But to confirm...I will simply say this; you are correct to believe that these so-called revelations, are nothing more than witchcraft. I'm also sure that you have the needed passages in God's word for this belief and confirmation, as well.
Let me share with you what I've studied about this topic...
First of all, no matter what anyone else says or believes about a certain thing, NEVER, I repeat NEVER leave what you KNOW to be true in God's word (KJV)...no matter what the costs may bring for doing so.
In Matthew, Ch 10 and verse 34, it says:
"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword."
then in verse 35: "For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law."
Mat 10:36: "And a man's foes [shall be] they of his own household."
Mat 10:37: "He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me."
Mat 10:38: "And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me."
Secondly, right now the devil is trying his hardest to attack kill and destroy the family, as a whole.
DO NOT let him succeed ! The best approach to this is to learn about the deliverance ministry.
God's word teaches us to..Pray for your enemies (family) bless them who persecute you...
it will do no good to argue the point with them...for they are set in their mind. Remember the battlefield is in the mind, that's where satan loves to attack. Especially when satan knows the grandfather was highly respected as a man of God...and he is using this fact to confuse and mislead the rest of the family, by deceitful lies etc.
You haven't told me if they believe in God and/or the bible (KJV)...do they tend to read and study from those other perverted versions of God's word?

Hope and prayers go with you...
