Question
hello

a church will banish and condemn a repenting criminal, but they'll honor and praise the teachings of men like david, paul and moses, men who were killers?

Answer
While this is a rude statement rather than a question, I will respond, out of courtesy to you.

Not all churches follow the Scriptural admonition to see these "repenting criminals" as new creatures in Christ Jesus. The Apostle Paul was quick to point out (under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit) that those that have come to Christ, have been justified from all things.

There are however many godly churches that seek to honor the Lord Jesus not only with their lips, but also with their deeds. It sounds as if there might be one particular church that you have had a problem with. If that is the case, may I offer a suggestion? Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. Remember that the Lord is not the one that causes men to fail to honor Him. Don't blame Him.

If you have already blamed Him, confess that before Him. The Scripture says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness". God's greatest desire is to see the lost saved. That is why He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life". Based upon Sripture, His second greatest desire, is to have constant fellowship with those who are believers in His Son. Scripture says, "How can we say we love God, whom we have not seen, and hate our brother whom we have seen?" So I would say that it is God's desire, no His COMMAND, that we have love one for another.

I hope this has been some help to you, in showing that, even when you were somewhat rude in your statement, there are some that can lay aside others' failures and still spend time to seek their well being.

Expertise

I seek to help Christians in doctrinal matters. Many Christians think that doctrine doesn`t matter, yet the Scriptures indicate otherwise. It is my desire to share from the Word of God with those who have legitimate questions. As such, I cannot claim expertise, except that I will seek to answer from the Authority (the Bible). If I cannot find a Biblical answer, I may offer an opinion based upon my understanding of Scripture, or I will simply reply with an, "I Don`t Know".
