Question
hello im an 18 year old female, and over the past couple weeks i have to the conclusion that god hates me and wants me to fail miserably at everything i do. i really think so.  for example, i had a crush on this new guy that started working at my job.  ever since then things keep going wrong,  my car wont start after work, so this guy helps me start it. oaky. then the next day the same thing happens.  meanwhile, i was going tanning because my family and i are going on a trip in a month.  i get sunburnt and for the first time ever in my life, my skin starts peeling, on my face!  not my legs, or somwhere not visible, no my FACE! real attractive right?  ahhh. then i ended up taking a 2nd car to work, and that quit working too!!!  so, this guy i like came out and helped me....again.  i feel like a freak. things keep getting worse, and i dont understand what this is all for!!!!!!!!!!1  why does this have to happen NOW??!!!  any suggestions? thanks

Answer
K,

Sometimes we feel unloved or that everything is going wrong, when in fact, we are loved and "All things work together for good to them that love God, who are the called according to His purpose."

I am not sure of all that God wants for you, but I am sure that He is in control of everything. He will not put more on you than you can bear, if you are one of His children.

I can assure you that the "peeling" will be finished in less than a month. I can also assure you that just because things appear to be going wrong, doesn't mean that they are. It could be that this guy that you "have a crush on" is not the one that God has in store for you. OR it could be that the cars quit working so this guy could come to your rescue. If he is right for you, I can guarantee that a sunburned face will not be the deciding factor in whether or not he is attracted to you.

Paul wrote that the women are not to adorn themselves (outwardly), but that the thing that they should adorn themselves is with a meek and gentle spirit (inwardly). Mr. RIGHT will be looking for someone that ministers to his spirit, rather than one that simply appeals to his eyes. Some of us older folks refer to pretty women as "eye candy". God is preparing someone special for you that will not be looking for "eye candy". That is not to say that you shouldn't be concerned with your appearance, but that it should not be the most attractive part of the real you.

I hope this helps to calm your nerves, and hopefully you will seek God's clear directions for your life in the Word of God.

With Love In Christ,
Phillip Senn

Expertise

I seek to help Christians in doctrinal matters. Many Christians think that doctrine doesn`t matter, yet the Scriptures indicate otherwise. It is my desire to share from the Word of God with those who have legitimate questions. As such, I cannot claim expertise, except that I will seek to answer from the Authority (the Bible). If I cannot find a Biblical answer, I may offer an opinion based upon my understanding of Scripture, or I will simply reply with an, "I Don`t Know".
