Question
Do any legal briefs exist on the trial of Paul before Nero?  Any did he have what they would call a lawyer then?  I could not find in any of the articles I've read that he did.  It sound as though no one wanted to be associated with him or his trial, except God.

Answer
That sounds about right.  There is no real information of the final trial before the Roman court.

We only have "tradition" now which can but guess at what transpired.

We do know that the Lord Himself ALWAYS stands by those who are persecuted or even killed for the sake of the good news of our savior even though Paul was abandoned by people at the first trial.

2 Ti 4:16-18

16 At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them. 17 But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion's mouth. 18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
