Question
QUESTION: Dear sir,
According to Christianity, it is said that Jesus is God and also the son of God. How do you resolve this contradiction
Nalaka

ANSWER: If you look closely at my profile you will see that I have rejected church doctrine in favor of Jehovah's Witnesses who teach correctly that Jesus is who he said he is and thats Jehovah's son,God [Jehovah]sent his son to save sinful mankind,if Jesus is God how can he send himself which I never questioned before as a pastor and taught Jesus was God but after coming in contact with the Witnesses I began to see many contradictions and this was one. The question I began to
ask was why do the main stream churches of Christendom teach this false doctrine? Did the 1st century followers of Jesus believe Jesus was God if not where did this come from. The answer is Jesus who is the great teacher never said he was God but always said he was Gods son.Paul who knew who Jesus was said:

NEW WORLD TRANSLATION
(1 Corinthians 8:5-6) 5 For even though there are those who are called “gods,” whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,” 6 there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ,. . .

When Christians use the expression “the Son of God,” Moslems vehemently protest, “God has no son.” They quote the Koran, which says, at Suras 4:169; 6:101; 19:36: “God is only one God! Far be it from His glory that He should have a son!” “How, when He hath no consort, should He have a son?” “It beseemeth not God to beget a son.”

The word “son” means “a human male considered with reference to his parents or either of them; a male descendant.” Every male child or person has to be the son of someone who as father produced or generated his life. Thus, because Abdallah begot or generated the life of the one who became the prophet Mohammed, Mohammed is said to be “the son of Abdallah.” Now, what about the first forefather of Mohammed and of us all, the first man Adam who was his father?

Adam had no human father, but still he had to be the son of someone. Of whom? God was his father. So Adam must have been the son of God. God already had countless spirit sons angels who are called sons:

(Job 38:4-7) . . .Where did you happen to be when I founded the earth? Tell [me], if you do know understanding.  5 Who set its measurements, in case you know, Or who stretched out upon it the measuring line?  6 Into what have its socket pedestals been sunk down, Or who laid its cornerstone,  7 When the morning stars joyfully cried out together,. . .

Jesus did not first become a son of God when he was born of Mary. He was foremost among the spirit sons of God who shouted for joy at the creation of the earth, as we read at Proverbs 8:22-31:

(Proverbs 8:25-26) . . .Before the mountains themselves had been settled down, ahead of the hills, I was brought forth as with labor pains, 26 when as yet he had not made the earth . . .

At his baptism God’s voice “came out of heaven:

(Luke 3:21-22) . . .Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized and, as he was praying, the heaven was opened up 22 and the holy spirit in bodily shape like a dove came down upon him, and a voice came out of heaven: “You are my Son, the beloved; I have approved you.”

That voice was not that of Jesus but of Jehovah.Stephen in vision caught sight of God’s glory and of the resurrected Jesus at God’s right hand, how could Jesus be almighty God and be at Gods right hand?

(Acts 7:55-57) . . .But he, being full of holy spirit, gazed into heaven and caught sight of God’s glory and of Jesus standing at God’s right hand, 56 and he said: “Look! I behold the heavens opened up and the Son of man standing at God’s right hand.” 5. . .

All of this was written down by ancient historians of truthful events. Five hundred years afterward, if certain writers denied that Jesus is the Son of God, should we set aside the overwhelming testimony of credible witnesses whose names are given by named writers of the Holy Bible? Why, that Jesus is the Son of God was admitted by the Roman soldiers and by the demons themselves, And these were his enemies.

So as I said earlier where did this false teaching come from and why,the answer to why is simple
the Devil is behind all false teachings so as to deceive Christians as to who Jesus really is.
So after Jesus fonded the Christian church at Pentecost and rejected Judaism in favor of this new way of worship the Devil corrupted the true church as Paul predicted:

(Acts 20:29-30) 29 I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among YOU and will not treat the flock with tenderness, 30 and from among YOU yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.

So false teachings started and changed doctrine and beliefs such as who the son of God is.

Please feel free to follow up there are many other contradictions I have learned.

QUESTION: Dear sir,
I can not agree with answer you gave. i supposed that you are restricted to the aristotal's two fold logic. That is why you suppose that Jesus is God and Jesus is God's son is wrong. Above expression is based on three fold logic that is both A and notA can be truth. According to this logic above expression has no contradiction. I asked previous question for checking your knowledge on three fold logic. It is better to aware about logic.
thank you
Nalaka

ANSWER: *I prefer to go by scripture rather than logic, you see the worlds logic is really foolishness with God,The bible doesn't support the teaching Jesus is God,there is not one scripture that says Jesus is God,many use scriptures to infer or imply he is God but he knew who he was and he wouldn't leave us wondering who is was,for instance people use what he said that if you see him you see the father,so false reasoning says he is the father because he said if you see me you see him because he said I and the father are one.Yet later he clearly said:

(John 14:28) . . .I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.

So can anyone be greater than God?  NO. so when he said I and the father are one he couldn't have meant he was the father,so what did he mean?

Later he explained ;

(John 10:38) . . .in order that YOU may come to know and may continue knowing that the Father is in union with me and I am in union with the Father.. . .

KJV uses another word instead of union

"that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him."

Again Jesus explained later;

(John 17:11) . . .Also, I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world and I am coming to you. Holy Father, watch over them on account of your own name which you have given me, in order that they may be one just as we are.

So are his followers the same personages,NO,neither is Jesus, they are one in purpose not in substance.

And finally he continued;

(John 17:21) . . .in order that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in union with me and I am in union with you, that they also may be in union with us, in order that the world may believe that you sent me forth.

So Jesus was helping us to understand he is in agreement with being sent by God and his true followers should be one in agreement also;

(Romans 12:5) . . .so we, although many, are one body in union with Christ, but members belonging individually to one another. . .

(1 Corinthians 1:10) . . .Now I exhort YOU, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that YOU should all speak in agreement, and that there should not be divisions among YOU, but that YOU may be fitly united in the same mind and in the same line of thought.. . .

(Galatians 3:28) . . .There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor freeman, there is neither male nor female; for YOU are all one [person] in union with Christ Jesus. . .

QUESTION: Dear sir,
If Bible does not support the statement that Jesus is god what led to this statement in church doctrine

Answer
As early as the first century, Christianity which was started by Jesus at Pentecost
was influenced by false religious teachings causing Paul to warn:

Jehovah's Witness New World Translation

(1 Timothy 6:20) . . .O Timothy, guard what is laid up in trust with you, turning away from the empty speeches that violate what is holy and from the contradictions of the falsely called “knowledge.”

That is why I mentioned "I prefer to go by scripture rather than logic, you see the worlds logic is really foolishness with God"

Paul mentioned this “knowledge.”

KJV translate it:

"and oppositions of science falsely so called"

Young's Literal:

"and opposition of the falsely-named knowledge:

Darby Translation)
and oppositions of false-named knowledge,

Holman Christian Standard Bible

empty speech and contradictions from the "knowledge

So this "knowledge" Paul was talking about was human wisdom, human logic because later he said:

(1 Corinthians 2:13) 13 These things we also speak, not with words taught by human wisdom, but with those taught by [the] spirit. . .

(1 Corinthians 3:19) 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God; for it is written: “He catches the wise in their own cunning.”. . .

(Colossians 2:8) . . .Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry YOU off as his prey through the philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ. . .

There was a movement called Gnosticism that gained prominence early in the second century but that evidently got started in the first century, from the Greek word gno´sis, meaning “knowledge.” Gnostic groups contended that salvation is dependent upon special mystical knowledge of deep things unknown to ordinary Christians.

Scholar R. E. O. White calls Gnosticism a combination of “philosophic speculation, superstition, semi-magical rites, and sometimes a fanatical and even obscene cultus.” Andrew M. Greeley of the University of Arizona says: “The Jesus of the Gnostics is sometimes incoherent, sometimes unintelligible, and sometimes more than a little creepy.”

The Gnostics were not alone in twisting the truth about Jesus. Nestorius, an early 5th-century patriarch of Constantinople taught that Christ was actually two persons in one.

The Council of Nicaea taught that Jesus is of the same substance as the Father.’ In 451 C.E. the Council of Chalcedon stated that Christ is God incarnate.

So the true church started at Pentecost and its teachings were corrupted and Paul warned:

(Acts 20:29-30) . . .I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among YOU and will not treat the flock with tenderness, 30 and from among YOU yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.

His going away meant after his death false teachings would come in the church such as Jesus being God.

Then the false church became the Roman catholic religion ,Paul again warned:

(2 Thessalonians 2:9-10) . . .But the lawless one’s presence is according to the operation of Satan with every powerful work and lying signs and portents 10 and with every unrighteous deception for those who are perishing, as a retribution because they did not accept the love of the truth that they might be saved.. . .

This lawless one was not one man but a false religious organization,so the warning was not one man because he states that this “man” was evident in his day and would continue in existence

(2 Thessalonians 2:4) . . .He is set in opposition and lifts himself up over everyone who is called “god” or an object of reverence, so that he sits down in the temple of The God, publicly showing himself to be a god.

(2 Thessalonians 2:7) . . .True, the mystery of this lawlessness is already at work. . .

So this was the powerful Roman church who took control of religious teachings and killed any who opposed its false teachings, many were burned to death for translation of the bible into english

which they had only in Latin which many could not read or understand.

Church History shows that those in this man of lawlessness class have displayed such pride and arrogance that they have actually dictated to rulers of the world. Under the pretext of the doctrine of ‘the divine right of kings,’ the clergy have claimed to be the essential intermediary between the rulers and God. They have crowned and dethroned kings and emperors and have been able to turn the masses for or against rulers. In effect, they have said, as did the Jewish chief priests who rejected Jesus: We have no king but Caesar.

To elevate themselves even more above the common people, this lawless class has adopted different garb,Further, they have adorned themselves with all kinds of imposing regalia, together with crowns, crosses and put to death any who opposed the Church.

Jesus and his followers had no such garb; they dressed as did the common people. The clergy have also taken to themselves titles such as “Father,” “Holy Father,” “Reverend,” “Most Reverend,” “His Excellency,” and “His Eminence,” which add to their ‘lifting themselves over everyone.

Yet, Jesus taught regarding religious titles:

(Matthew 23:9) . . .Moreover, do not call anyone YOUR father on earth, for one is YOUR Father, the heavenly One.

So this is how false teachings started down to our day.As you asked:

"If Bible does not support the statement that Jesus is god what led to this statement in church doctrine"

These are Roman Catholic teachings taken by the Protestant movement when they split from the Roman church
