Question
Dear Dean thanks for taking my question

Did Constantine ask for the creation of the new testament and then the Catholic Church did all the work.(with Holy Spirit of course)

Or did the Catholic Church decided and do the work on there own.
thanks
Jeff

Answer
I can't find anything that would include Constantine in the setting of the canon of the Bible.

The canonization of the books was a long process which seems to have begun about 170A.D.The canon became more or less fixed between 367 and 405A.D.

But even here, there were parts of Christendom which had not recieved of accepted all and only the books which are now in the canon.  The RCC still has the Apocrypha in their Bibles and hold it as part of the canon.
