Question
In our denomination we take Communion once a month. When did Communion begin to be taken only once a month? Did someone dictate that...

Answer
Strangely enough, in the Lutheran fellowship, it was because of a note that Martin Luther wrote encouraging frequent celebrations of the Lord's Supper.

He wrote something to the effect that one could hardly consider themselves to be a follower of Jesus if they took Communion less than onece a month.   And, like a lot of foolishness of Christians, this was taken as an excuse to receive the sacrament LESS.
