QuestionHello I have question concerning the following pasage:
For pervese councels seperate a man fom GOD,and his power, put to the proof rebukes the foolhardly:
Because into a soul that plots evil wisdom enters NOT,nor dwells she in a body under debt of sin....this one reminded me of you ....its on the book of wisom *1;3:4
^^^ that passage was shared with me by my friend's sister who so happens to be seeking the word of God; Honestly, I never heard of it before; therefore, I ended up googling it, and I came up with something that was not from the Holly Bible (King James New Testiment) I really don't know much about my friend's sister, but I have heard about her recent behavior involving her seeking the word of God. Anyhow, her sister feels strangly about her behavior, and I agree, according to the feedback that she shares me. It almost sounds as she is mocking the word, and using the word out of context.
Can you tell me more about the passage above?
AnswerI don't remember ever hearing or reading that passage before either. And I know the Bible very, very well.
The quote is from "The Book of Wisdom". This writing was NOT ACCEPTED by the whole of the early church and so was not included in the Bible. Although the Roman Catholic Church did include the book in its later Latin Bible.
Some say that Solomon wrote it, but the language and style of the writing is different than that of Solomon.
I do not do interpretations of writings outside the canon of the inspired word of God. So, even though one can find some of man's wisdom and even paraphrases of the Bible in some of these books outside the Bible, they should not be taken God's own Word.
