Question
i want to know about the history of the conflict between jews and muslims.  does it go back to Abraham?  can you send me to any sources that would give a brief history?

Answer
There has been a conflict between  the descendents of Ishmael and the descendents of Isaac since the time of Abraham.

The Muslims count themselves as descendents of Abraham by Hagar even as Isaac is the son of Abraham by Sarah.

But  Mohammed, the founder of the Muslim relgion, was not born till 570 AD.

A rather quick source of information on this can be found on    http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/  This is the Catholic Encyclopedia online.   Look up Muslim, Ishmael, Mohammed...to get a good overview.
