Question
The council of Nicea rejecteed the position that Jesus is merely human. Instead, the Council introduced a dogma that affirms the divinity of Jesus. Describe the teaching of Nicea. What are the main elements of the dogmatic teaching?

Answer
The Council of Nicea only codified the Divine nature of Christ which is taught in the Bible and by the Christian church.

Each of the three ecumenical creeds are man's attempts at describing what is beyond human comprehension.  We know that God is one yet He speaks of Himself as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Dogma is merely a study put in order from all the parts of Scripture which speak to that point.  Usually it arises when certain teachings of the Bible are being confused by heresies.
