Christianity--Church History/sPIRITUAL GIFTS

Question
Why is it that leaders hardly teach their people on their spiritual gifts?

Answer
There can be a lot of very diverse reasons for not teaching about them.

They include:

Not knowing about the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Not knowing that they are still being given,  even in our age, to those who are born again.

Not understanding the distinction between justification and sanctification:  (Justification has to do with our having had our sins removed by the blood of Jesus Christ's atonement.  Sanctification has to do with the life and good works, by God's power, of those who have now been born again.)

Fear of being labelled a "holy roller",  an "enthusiast",  or  a "synergist" by other theologians.

Fear of fully turning over their lives to God.

Not knowing the word of God well enough so that they can compare and distinguish the leadings of the Holy Spirit from their own thoughts or deceptions of the devil.

Or..... some combination of the above.
