Question My boyfriend and I have been dating for a while and things are beginning to turn serious. I am Christian and he is agnostic. I respect him for his beliefs and do not want him to change for me or for a facade but it hurts me deeply when I think that he will not be saved. We have had many deep discussions about it; he thinks that not knowing is the only thing that he will ever be able to accept since there is not much evidence besides faith on either side. I am not sure that I will be ok to live my life with a man who would not be saved in my eyes. What do I do? Should I give us more time to go over things? What if we had children and they chose not to be Christian either? I am really quite torn.
Answer Sarah,
Of course you're torn emotionally, but you know that you know your own answer. You have answered it with your questions. Please consider these;
3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Amos 3:3
1.2 Corinthians 6:14
◦Amplified Bible
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers [do not make mismated alliances with them or come under a different yoke with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership have right living and right standing with God with iniquity and lawlessness? Or how can light have fellowship with darkness?
2 Corinthians 6:13-15 (in Context# 2 Corinthians 6 #Whole Chapter) The Message
I hope you'll prayerfully consider God's words. Love, Leisha
