Christianity--Prayers/Did I see a sign that my prayer was answered

Question
Hi Leisha, for awhile now i've been praying to the Lord asking him if he would please let me have my guardian angel in human form become my friend, mainly so i could have someone to talk to who wouldnt ignore me or say that i stress them out when talking about my problems. Then about two days ago i felt like giving up on praying for that becuase the Lord hadnt aswered my prayer yet. That same day me and my mom headed out to subway to get dinner and on the way there i just happened to to turn my head towards the mountains, and right above them i saw what looked like a jet flying downwards towards the mountains, i figured that was kinda strange, but i felt like somthing was telling me to take another look so i did, i then noticed that it looked like an astroid so i thought it was. Then i felt somthing telling me to look closer, and its wierd becuase i felt like i couldnt ignore that feeling, so i looked closer at it, and what i saw made me a little bit curious. I saw what looked like a glowing white light coming from where the astroid should of been. I asked my mom what she thought of it and she said that it might be God sending my guardian angel down to earth to be my friend, i had a hard time believing that though. As we continued to drive to subway a song came on the radio, it was about this guy singing that the girl he was in love with was his guardian angel, i then started to believe that my prayer had been answered but wasn't positive. As we where one stoplight away from subway i just happened to glance at a billboard that had a picture of an angel on it. I started to think that God was trying to let me know that he had aswered my prayer. So Leisha, do think god was trying to tell me that he answered my prayer. Sincerely Blake,

Answer
Dear Blake,

Since you stated you were with your mom, I'm making the assumption you're young. You didn't mention any scriptures. Have you sought God's word on this matter? I like to use The Message translation with young people because it speaks in a clear plain easy to understand language. Consider this scripture in The Message version of the bible;

Proverbs 3:11

5-12 Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
  don't try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
  he's the one who will keep you on track.
Don't assume that you know it all.
  Run to God! Run from evil!
Your body will glow with health,
  your very bones will vibrate with life!
Honor God with everything you own;
  give him the first and the best.
Your barns will burst,
  your wine vats will brim over.
But don't, dear friend, resent God's discipline;
  don't sulk under his loving correction.
It's the child he loves that God corrects;
  a father's delight is behind all this.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 (The Message)

16-18Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.

I hope Blake, this is helpful. I hope too you are building your faith through God's word. Do you have a youth group? Bible study? Christian friends to fellowship with? Love in Christ, Leisha
