Christianity--Prayers/Relationships
Expert: Rev Philip Dacre - 7/3/2011
QuestionQUESTION: Dear Reverend, I am in agony, such despair that I am filled daily with anxiety that is wearing me out and making me ill.
You see I have been in a relationship for 7 years living together , and for the past 3 yrs. I have wanted to leave this man and the relationship. I do not have the courage. I suffer from Bipolar , anxiety and PTSD, I am on medication and see a therapist and a Dr. who prescribes my medications.
I ask of you to please help me find my way to leave this unhappy relationship, it is doing me harm emotionally , I am ready to have a breakdown, I pray to the Lord, I cry to The Lord, I ask of Him to show me the way, to guide me.
I am not a practicing Christian, I am of the Catholic Belief , but I do not know the ways of prayer or how to even ask my Lord for help.
My therapist tells me I just have to leave and have Faith that everything will work out. But I am so scared. I also am on Disability because I was too scared to apply for jobs, so in a similar way these are alike. I cant go on much longer, I am almost 52 and I want a life, my life. I will never ever take my life but if this is how I am going to live for the next 30 or so years? I just dont understand why God has me here? Please help me ? Thank you.
ANSWER: Dear Jennifer,
I run a house of prayer here in UK. More than one month since Jesus gave us a list of 24 people that He was going to heal. You are on that list. I will quote beneath what He said for you:-
"A person feels so alone in the world, without anyone to really help them. Loneliness is crushing you and you are being driven to do things you would never do in your right mind. The Lord is saying to you, “My child you are mine! You belong to Me. I will never leave you. Call on Me and see if I do not do as I have promise. To comfort the down cast and broken-hearted. You have suffered much My child but now is the time to be set free of these chains of imprisonment. I have a special place in my heart for you and a special reason for you to live on for this time. Trust Me, call on Me and give Me permission to fill your heart with My love!”
God did not put you in the position you find yourself Jennifer. Evil drove you to it. The evil one rules the whole world, but in Christ we come free of his presence and his power.
God bless

QUESTION: Thank you Reverend for your quick reply. Are you telling me that a month ago you had me on a list that God gave you?
Evil is keeping me here? is that what you mean, the devil ?
So I pray and leave the relationship, shoo out the devil and Trust in God?
AnswerDear Jennifer,
Loneliness becomes exaggerated and obsesses us sometimes. Jesus was speaking those words to you to tell you what to do. It is always the devil that harms us and God that does good to us. So then whatever hurts, harms and robs us of life does not come from God but from the evil one.
Bible tells us to resist the devil and he will leave. But first obey what the Lord has said to you. Open your heart and let Him make you strong with His love as He has said.
God bless
