Topic: Christianity --Youth Issues

Expert: Pastor Don Carpenter
Date: 6/20/2008
Subject: PRAYER OF ILLUMINATION

Question
Some Christians believe that without the illumination of the Holy Spirit, one cannot understand the bible. Is it a false doctrine?

Answer
Hi Tan,

Thank you for this great question.  One must be born again, having the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in order to understand fully the scriptures.

1Co 2:14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

I hope that this helps you.

In Christ
Pastor Don
