Christianity --Youth Issues/Cat out of the bag

QuestionHi!
My nickname is N.G and I have an issue that is... well, not normal. I belive that God has told me who I am going to marry. He goes to my school and, I have been watching and learning more of who he is. I have no doubt that God has chosen some one wonderful for me! He is very deeply planted into God, and is all in all a great person. But I'm starting to have some doubts. It seems he doesn't know I'm alive, and I'm begining to wonder if God just told me this wonderful secret and just left for me to figure out the rest on my own. I don't know what to do, and I'm embaressed to talk to my mom about it even though she knows that this guy is "the one".
Thanks for listening,
Sincerely, Forever His
servant, N.G.
AnswerHi NG,
This is a very interesting question :)
The easiest way to answer you is to direct you to Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
And then also Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
God never, ever tells us stuff and then just leaves us to figure the rest out on our own. That was never His way in the past and since God is never-changing, that is not His way now.
I would encourage you to absolutely nothing except pray. Take time to get to know God for yourself. For Him to have told you this about your future husband, I'm working on the assumption that you already spend time praying and reading the bible each day. But if not, start doing so on a regular basis.
Thank God for sharing this knowledge with you but tell Him you don't know what to do. God loves it when we allow the Holy Spirit full rein to lead and guide us so do that. Start each brand new day by dedicating yourself to God, to His will and purpose for your life. Start praying passionately and with urgency and lots but in relation to this young man, do nothing!
Just continue to grow into the person you are in Christ Jesus. What I mean by that is make it your goal to become more and more like Jesus. I don't know exactly how old you are but I remember what it's like being a 15 year old Christian in school. It can be scary and tough. But you are there to be Jesus hands and feet in school. Start walking each day aiming to share Jesus' love in practical ways with your friends (and enemies!) But please, please don't try and do this by your own efforts. That's where prayer comes in. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you find the words and actions and bravery you need in each situation.
God know how you and this young man will end up together and for all we know, it might not be for another 20 years. Just take each day at a time, stop worrying and give it all to God instead.
I love to keep in touch to see how things go with you so if you'd like to contact me, feel free to send me an e-mail.
In either case, I'll be praying for you that God may use your life for His purpose.
In His love and service,
Eleanor

Matthew 5:13-16
"Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You've lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.
Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven."
