Christianity --Youth Issues/Why?
Expert: Susan Milillo - 1/30/2009
QuestionQUESTION: Have you ever gone to a LDS meeting with an open heart? Have you ever seen the standards they set for their youth? Why do you say they aren't Christian? This generation has many more moral things against them then any other generation. The first Article of Faith clearly states "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in his son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." Please have a missionary disscusion with a open heart and listen to what the LDS say don't twist their words. Thank-You.
ANSWER: To McKenna,
I'm sorry, are you sure you meant to send that to me?? I don't think I mentioned anything at all about the LDS believes. I take it that means Ladder Day Saints? Are you Mormon, yourself? I'd love to discuss this with you further. I have learned some things about that particular faith, and I know there are many decent people who would ascribe what they have learned to the Mormon church. One thing however, is that they do not believe Jesus is GOD. But if I said something about the LDS in my 'about me', please remind me, because I really don't know what you are referring to.
Thanks,
SM

QUESTION: Is this your website? If it is then yes if it isn't then no. Yes I am a Latter Day Saint and a Mormon. They are the same thing. Jesus and God are two different persons. Our Heavenly Father is Jesus's Father too. Jesus came to the earth to save all men's souls that they may be redeemed and come unto him. We do believe in God no matter what anyone says. I'm sorry you feel that way about us. Thanks.
AnswerMcKenna,
No, it's not my website. I'm just one of many who uses the website as a forum to help answer questions people have, about all kinds of different subjects. I get some heart-wrenching questions sometimes, from teens, who want to know how the Bible addresses their situations.
I meant no disrespect. I know you believe in God. I'd say, in response, Jesus and the Father are two different persons, and the Holy Spirit is the third person, making up the 'trinity'. 'Three in one' -
So, Jesus is God, the Father is God, and the Spirit is God. It's a mystery, how three persons can be only ONE God. But if I could understand or explain some of these deeper mysteries about God, that wouldn't say much about how much greater than me He is !
And yeah, I totally agree, that the Heavenly Father is Jesus' father; that doesn't go against the 'three in one' concept. He referred to the Father as 'Father' many times in the gospels.
Okay, I'm glad to 'chat' with you!
In Him,
