Christianity --Youth Issues/homosexuality

Question
I'm 26 and a new Christian.  I've been saved for one year. Before that I've been openly gay since I was 16 and have never had any experience in the church at all.  I have been sober since my salvation thanks to God.  He has delivered me from many things, things that I thought I would never be or want delivered from.  I don't know what to do about my sexuality, it is still intact. I pray, I study, I try to date women, I rebuke. It seems to be what is holding me back from having the most with Jesus. What is your advice?

Answer
Kenneth-

It's going to take time to reconcile your Christianity with your sexuality.  God calls you to a life of purity.  Unfortunately for you, that means a life of celibacy, or living in a possibly unfulfilled marriage.  I think you're doing the right things, but I also think you need to be patient.  Remember Paul had an issue that he had to deal with, and it was never taken from him.

Here's a link to many resources about your issue.  I hope it helps: http://home.messiah.edu/~chase/h/
