Christianity --Youth Issues/closer to god

Question
i want to be closer to god again. but i dont know where to begin.
i was very bad when i was young but one day my uncle took me to church and my life had changed completely.. time went by and we started fading away from god.
and now im here.
i feel empty, i feel like there is something missing and its him, GOD. i need him. i know he forgives me and loves him and i tell him the way i feel but everytime its him on my mind or him in my life i forget about god.. it seems that i only focus on my boyfriend n not god. i talk to my boyfriend about god n all but he tells me he dont wanna hear it. i recently noticed that my bf is into skeleton, creepy evil things. and it scares me and i pray for him. i need god back but everytime i only pray is when i need something from him, i also admitted to god what i do is wrong even though he knows it but i confess to him how i feel. i had read this verse months ago that even though god knows what goes through our heads and what we do he likes it when we tell him, when we talk to him even though he still knows.

Answer
Dear Leslie,

It sounds like your boyfriend really isn't supportive of your relationship with God.

If your relationship with God is what you want to be the most important thing to you, does that say something to you about your relationship with your boyfriend? Do you think that maybe God has someone better planned for you ?  A Christian guy who would encourage you and help you grow, in your relationship with God ?   Or maybe you want to just have it be you and God for a while.
It sounds like He's obviously working in your heart, and reminding you of truths you have learned.

Before, when you went to church, did invite Jesus to forgive you and be your Savior from sin?
Just want to make sure, because that is always the first step to a changed life in God.
If you want to know more about that, please ask me !!

So, yeah -- just set everything aside that distracts you or takes away your energy from pursuing God, as He pursues you.    I know this may be hard, but it will certainly be very rewarding.

        Love in Jesus,
