Question
Hi Susan,

i have alot of friends who are not christian. They sometimes do things that i
do not believe in and i find my self in danger of temptation at times. i really
care about my friends i dont want to lose them, but is it worth compromising
my faith? do i need new friends?

- nelly:)

Answer
Dear Nelly,

This is a hard issue, because obviously you love your friends, and that is always a good thing, in and of itself.
I would say -- No, nothing is worth compromising your faith.  If it comes to that -- choosing between  your friends and your faith, it has to be your faith (GOD!) every time.
But perhaps there are some steps to take first? Like, focus on the positive actions you can take.   What positive, Christian friendships can you invest in?   Just focus a little more and a little more, energy and time and attention on those - and on Christian activities, like a Bible study, and a ministry of your own, sharing God with other people in your church, even.   Don't necessarily drop your nonchristian friends - just don't make them your main focus.  They need Christ, but you need to build yourself up through positive means or you will be no good to them for the Lord anyway!
Does this make sense? Please ask me more if you need me to clarify.

     Love,
          SM
