Christianity --Youth Issues/Should I live with a homosexual?
Expert: Carl Fuglein - 8/29/2009
QuestionHi,
I have a problem and I wld rly like someone else's point of view on it!
At the moment I am preparing to move back to Switzerland -and the house I lived in last year is available but I need to find 2 room mates. One guy has already been accepted by the landlords and he sounds like a rly nice guy. The only slight problem is that he's a homosexual. I am commited christian and have nothing against homosexuals - love the person, hate the sin. But he has been quite open with me and said he is looking for a relationship - I am sure he is a gr8 guy but I rly dont know if it is wise to live with a man who says he is seeking a homosexual relationship.
I dont know what to do - I also dont wanna appear like a homophobe! And I wld love to be friends with this guy.
I dont know what to do coz as of yet I have no where else to live. I also wont find anywhere as cheap. And I rly dont wanna offend the guy or the landlords.
What do you think I should do?
This guy knows I'm a christian and recently asked whether I think we could live together but as of yet I haven't replied to him.
I am torn between forgetting it completely and trying hard to find somewhere else to live and between telling him my views and asking him to be discreet when it comes to relationships.
What should I do?
Any help would be much appreciated as I need to let this guy know very soon whether I think we would be able to live together.
Thanks in advance.

AnswerSarah-
I would think the appearance of a woman living with a man, even though they are not in a relationship, might present more of a problem than him being a homosexual. Be prepared for the people who criticize you for that.
I personally see no reason why you shouldn't live with him. His sin is his sin, not yours. Let's face it, you're a sinner, too. We in society unfortunately put a bigger target on sexual sin, when God (I think) views all sins alike. Would you consider moving in with another girl who is promiscuous and has a different guy over every night? If you would, then rooming with your homosexual friend is no different. As long as he keeps to himself, I see no reason not to.
hope this helps,
