Christianity --Youth Issues/Porn Money

Question
My name is Taylor, I'm a 19 year old guy and I recently rededicated my life. I had a friend who let me borrow some of his x rated movies, before I made the decision to go to the altar. I had them for a week but never watched them and when I rededicated I destroyed the DVD's, now this person wants me to pay them 30 dollars. I don't dispute that there were at least 30 dollars worth of DVD's. I just feel if I pay him the money, I'm paying for porn after I made the decision that I was going to live for God. Yet still, I did destroy his property, even if I don't think he should own it. What should I do?

Answer
Taylor-

Thank you God for Taylor's decision to come to you.

It's a tough call, but if you borrowed his property, and then destroyed it, I think you owe him the $30.  You're not paying for porn, you're living up to the responsibility of paying an obligation.  Use the opportunity to minister to your friend.  Tell him why you destroyed the porn.  Tell him that you will fulfill the obligation, but pray that he would not use the money to buy more porn. Tell him you will pray for him and help him break his porn habit if he wants help. I think that you're being a good Christian by fulfilling the obligation and should not feel guilty about paying it.  Hopefully, he will see a change in you, and you can continue to witness to him as to why you've changed.

That's my humble opinion.  Thanks for writing.  Please take time to rate my answer, and also let me know what you decide.

blessings,
carl
