If drinking is so immoral, then I'd ask the pastor, "did Jesus sin, or cause others to sin when he turned water into wine?"

Causing others to sin is also a sin; and as we know, the answer is no, jesus did not commit sin. Therefore I do not believe that the pastor has any biblical grounds against this man. Yes the bible states that we should maintain full control of our bodies (not become drunk), but there is a difference between a social beverage and a drunken binge.

I have been involved in youth and young adult ministries as a volunteer for over 35 years. I am currently a volunteer youth minister in a suburban UM church - I have a small group of 7th and 8th graders.
