QuestionDear Ms. Brenda, i am 11 years old. a while back when i was young my parents got a divorce. since then my live has ben torn apart. and in that time i think i blasphemed god. as i used to do bad and i thought of all the bad things I've done and i think i remember saying bad things about god. and i know that blasphemy is the unforgivable sin. i am truly sorry for what i have done and I've cried thinking that i wont be forgiven. i am repenting and trying to change my ways. though sometimes it can be difficult for me. i prayed to god and asked him for his forgiveness, yet i still feel bad. please send me an answer. thanks
AnswerJehovah (God's name) forgives repentant sinners.
Knowing Jehovah’s undeserved kindness, we can seek forgiveness, confident that it will be granted.—Ephesians 1:7.
What might contribute to the feeling that we have sinned against the holy spirit?
Overconscientiousness or a weak physical condition may be factors. In such a case, prayer and added rest may be helpful. Especially should we not let Satan discourage us, so that we stop serving God.
Since Jehovah has no pleasure in the death of the wicked, he surely takes no delight in the loss of any of his servants. So if we fear that we have sinned against the spirit, we should continue feeding on God’s Word, including such comforting portions as the Psalms.—Titus 2:2.
Any who fear that they have sinned against the holy spirit might ask themselves: ‘Have I blasphemed against the holy spirit? Did I genuinely repent of my sin? Do I have faith in God’s forgiveness?Very likely, such individuals will realize that they have NOT blasphemed against God’s holy spirit. They are repentant, and they have abiding faith in Jehovah’s forgiveness. If so, they have not sinned against Jehovah’s holy spirit.
