Questionis it true that some servants of God get direct revelation from God?If yes how to identify which comes from God and which from satan
AnswerLeja-
Yes, that's true. There are two spiritual gifts dealing with two similar topics.
(1 Cor 12:10 NLT) He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and to another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to know whether it is really the Spirit of God or another spirit that is speaking. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, and another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.
This scripture talks about both of them = prophecy and discernment. The gift of discernment allows a person to know and understand spiritual truths and to clearly distinguish truth from error by judging whether the behavior or teaching is from God, Satan, human error, or human power.
Romans 12:6 God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out when you have faith that God is speaking through you.
The Gift of prophecy allows someone to speak forth the message of God to His people.
When seeking spiritual truths, you should seek out someone with the gift of discernment. Also, it is a good idea to seek out wise counsel from your elders and also from your friends - oftentimes, your friends can see things that you are blinded to.
Finally, read this scripture:
(Col 3:16 KJV) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
(Col 3:17 KJV) And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Common sense, knowing what's right and what's wrong is your first guide, and oftentimes things are purely black and white. But when you get into gray areas, discerning the right from wrong is difficult. Not sure if I can give you much more advice - just talk to your elders and trusted advisors, your pastor, and whenever possible, someone who knows you who also has the gift of discernment (your pastor may know someone.
Hope this helps.
Blessings,
Carl
