Christianity --Youth Issues/Writing... immoral?

Question
Hello, and thanks in advance for your time. Moving right along, I'm a hetereosexual Christian girl, and I enjoy writing. This may seem silly, but I ask still. Is it morally questionable to write a piece of fiction involving homosexual characters/relationships? I'm completely straight myself, and it would not be explicit, nor would it be stated that this kind of thing is "okay". The moralness is not really commented on... it's just what happens. It's a made up story, with made up characters. Is there reason for me to think this would be bad thing to do?
There's my silly question... thanks much for again for your time.

Well, I have to admit, that's the first time I've ever gotten this question, but I don't think it's silly at all.  It shows that you are aware of your faith and how it applies to real life.

I'm torn as to how to answer you.  One side of me thinks it's purely okay.  The other side makes me ask questions like, "If someone reading this story would stumble, or start to think that homosexuality was okay, would I be the cause of that."  As a Christian, I'd question (sort of like your own question), how my actions would affect other people.  But looking at it even more, I read murder mysteries all the time and many of them have issues of the world and implied, and sometimes explicit sex.  It doesn't affect my stance on homosexuality, and even though it may arouse some feelings of lust, it doesn't really affect my Christian beliefs, nor cause me to sin any more than I normally would.  (I'm a guy.  Guys think about sex on an average of 7 seconds, or so they say.  I believe it, as I know some students that think about it constantly.)

So, my final opinion is, yea, I think it's okay.  If you're going to be a successful writer, you're going to have to be relevant and in the world.  But I'd like you to think about how you could put a positive spin on this and talk about morality.  Just a thought.

Thanks for sharing.  Fascinating question, thanks.

Blessings,
Carl
