Christianity --Youth Issues/No God

QuestionBecause my desk had a maker does not mean the universe did. That would be over simplifying the universe. If all things must have a creator then who created God? My answer would be people who were trying to explain the vast complexities of the world around them. I see no proof in your answer. I truly think all the God and Jesus crap is something created by people trying to explain that which human kind is incapable of comprehending. They don't understand how it works so it must be God.
If I am certain I am not going through a phase, should I still tell my parents that I am? Is telling them the truth going to hurt a lot?

I see no proof God exists. I don't think my lack of understanding about how the universe got here is a reason to believe.
You think I should simply tell my parents I don't want to go to church? If they ask why, what should I tell them? I don't want to hurt them and I also don't want to attend church. I feel learning about this God and Jesus crap is a waste of my Sunday. How can I soften the blow without hurting them?

Question -
How do I tell my parents I no longer believe in God and I do not want to go to church? What should I expect when I tell them?
Answer -
sorry but I have to ask, why do you not believe in God, the evidence after all is outstanding, where do you think we came from if there is no Creator?
Now if it is "church" that you dont like, that I can understand, but wanting to stop going to church, and not believing in a Creator, are 2 different things.
Dont let church put you off believing in a Creator.
If you would like to discuss reasons why there definately is a God, I will be happy to discuss it here with you.
As for your parents, why not just tell them one of the points (dont want to go to church) and let them get used to that idea first, it will be hurting enough for them to know you no longer want to go along with them, no need to hurt them even more by adding salt to the wound and saying; "oh btw I dont believe in God anymore"

Hi Brandon, you said--"I SEE NO PROOF GOD EXISTS."
The Bible says: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1) And the facts of science agree that the heavens, with their billions of stars, and our earth had a beginning. They were created. The movements of the stars and the planets are so regular that even years in advance their position can be determined with perfect accuracy. The stars and the planets move in the universe according to the laws and principles of mathematics.
A professor of mathematics from the University of Cambridge, P. Dirac, said, in the magazine Scientific American: "One could perhaps describe the situation by saying that God is a mathematician of a very high order, and He used very advanced mathematics in constructing the universe."
Think about our great universe, as well as our own body with its wonderful construction and design. Sound reasoning should tell us that these things did not simply evolve or come by themselves. They had to have a Designer, a Creator. Consider other things that we see around us. When you are in your house, ask yourself: Did my desk, lamp, bed, chair, table, walls, or even the house itself, evolve? Or did they need a maker? Of course intelligent persons had to make them! In what way, then, can it be claimed that our much more complex universe and we ourselves did not require a maker?
So Brandon the "proof" is all around you, just as you live in a house men made and enjoy the luxuries in a house that men made, if a simple thing like a door handle needed a planner, designer and maker, how much more did the earth etc. People choose for all different reasons not to believe in God, but it certainly isn't true that there's "no proof".
"LEARNING ABOUT GOD AND JESUS IS A WASTE OF MY SUNDAY".
Ah now heres the real reason, this I can understand ,because when I used to go to church it was the most boring experience and taught nothing of real value to a youth. But instead of giving up on God and Jesus, why not go somewhere that is not a; "waste of a Sunday" Ever seen a "Kingdom Hall" in your area, well On a Sunday it is packed full of youths all enjoying what is being taught, because what is said there, has meaning for them as youths.
Going along there would certainly not be a waste of your Sunday. God has a purpose for man and his earth and your included in that purpose, aren't you curious what that purpose is?
Or if going along to the Hall doesn't suit you, why not write to me here and I will tell you what God's purpose is for you and me. I guarantee it will not be a waste of your time.
As for your Parents try everything you can, not to say it all, just say; "you are going through a phase and would like to stop going for a while, maybe you will go back when you get your head sorted out"

AnswerHi Brandon, you said--“BECAUSE MY DESK HAD A MAKER DOES NOT MEAN THE UNIVERSE DID.”
???? Even more so surely.
Mathematician William A. Dembski wrote that the “intelligent design” evident in “observable features of the natural world . . . can be adequately explained only by recourse to intelligent causes.”
Aerospace engineer Luther D. Sutherland wrote in his book Darwin's Enigma: “The scientific evidence shows that whenever any basically different type of life first appeared on Earth, all the way from single-celled protozoa to man, it was complete and its organs and structures were complete and fully functional. The inescapable deduction to be drawn from this fact is that there was some sort of pre-existing intelligence before life first appeared on Earth.”
After a lifetime of fruitful scientific research and work, astronomer Allan Sandage said: “It was my science that drove me to the conclusion that the world is much more complicated than can be explained by science. It is only through the supernatural that I can understand the mystery of existence.”
“As a scientist, I look at the world around me, and observe engineering mechanisms of such remarkable complexity that I am drawn to the conclusion of intelligent design being behind such complex order.”—ANDREW MCINTOSH, MATHEMATICIAN WALES
“The complexity of nature clearly points to a Creator. Every biological and physical system, once understood, shows incredible complexity.”—JOHN K. G. KRAMER, BIOCHEMIST,CANADA
“The order of the living world is plainly evident. It was set up by a superior Power that I personally call God. It is here that faith agrees with scientific truth. Far from contradicting it, it completes it, providing a simpler understanding of our universe.”—JEAN DORST, BIOLOGIST, FRANCE
“I cannot imagine the universe and human life without an intelligent beginning, without a source of spiritual ‘warmth' that lies beyond matter and its laws.”—ANDREY DMITRIYEVICH SAKHAROV, NUCLEAR PHYSICIST, RUSSIA
“Each animal is in some way uniquely designed to suit its particular environment, and I cannot help but attribute the complexity of the design to a Creator, rather than to random evolutionary forces.”—BOB HOSKEN, BIOCHEMIST, AUSTRALIA
Nothing simplistic about the Universe, if a simple thing like a wooden desk needed to made, then how much more so does the incredible universe.
Name me one thing that wasn't made by someone? Logic alone determines the Universe was created.
