Question
Hi  thanks for your time. Ok i recently have gotten in a relation ship with a wonderful Christian Girl and  it is i admit my first real relationship. However today a thought entered my head that id sell my soul to marry her. Now please understand i firmly believe that seleling your soul is purely a fictional concept. Am i correct in this ? I believe that either way Jesus would forgive me but i just want some confirmation, als o i believe that this may be a spiritual attac ktrying to discourage me from a relationship. What do you think ? ( I am a Christian  and we both believe in sanctity of marriage and no pre marital sex. So i dont kow what to make of this. Thanks

Answer
I think that you CAN sell your soul, but only to Jesus.  You have a choice to make, and I think you've already made it - the choice is whether or not to accept Jesus as your Lord and savior.  If you've done that, then chances are you're not going to back down on it.

Selling your soul to the devil in order to receive something in return is indeed a fictional concept.  But that doesn't necessarily mean that Satan won't attack us and get our minds thinking bad things.

In your case, since it is a first relationship, I think you're just thinking: "How great this is that someone loves me - I'd do anything to keep this realtionship going - it's more important than anything else."  Well, it's not - the most important thing in your life is Jesus.  You wouldn't really turn your back on Jesus for this girl, would you?  I don't think so.

And be patient - first relationships rarely last. Enjoy it while you can, and then move on.  God has already picked a wife for you, and you'll know who it is when He's ready to tell you.

blessings,
carl
