QuestionHi my name is Alex. I live in a mormon town, now just to clear up I am a firm believer in my christianty faith. Now I am turning into a teenager and I have been through alot of tough times. I have been through being exclueded cause I wore a cross, being made fun of, being teased, ect. Just oday I got in a agrgument with my best friend today about gays. She is mormon and she told me she wanted gays to die. And that hurt me cause I have gay people in my family and I was like there is nothing wrong with that. Most of my friends are mormon, and i don't want to drop them cause I have nowhere else to go but I don't want to hang out with people like that, please I need soemone to talk too.
Answer"SHE IS MORMON AND SHE TOLD ME SHE WANTED GAYS TO DIE, I WAS LIKE THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH GAYS."
Very strange to have 2 people of the same faith disagree on a bible principle, in my faith, if you asked any one of them anywhere in the world what they think of a certain subject you would hear the exact same answer. Surely it is God & his word we should all be adhering to, so if God says Homosexuality is wrong then it’s wrong? Full stop.
However even although God is against the act of homosexuality, we should not have the wrong attitude the friend of yours displayed, that’s not Christian; “wanting a person to die” but its not alright to be gay either, not according to the Creator.
So both opinions are not bible based & that will be a problem in choosing friends, God wants us all to be of like mind & speak in agreement, for that to happen (as it does in my faith) all Christians must make God’s thoughts & views, theirs.
MOST OF MY FRIENDS ARE MORMON, AND I DON'T WANT TO DROP THEM CAUSE I HAVE NOWHERE ELSE TO GO, BUT I DON'T WANT TO HANG OUT WITH PEOPLE LIKE THAT
That is not a good reason to hang on to friends “nowhere else to go” they are saying things that are not in agreement with God or his word so they are not the type of friends God wants us to associate with. (1 cor 15; 33) God doesn’t want you to “hang out with people like that” either.
I would encourage you to find the TRUE faith, one where all members are in agreement because they all adhere to God’s word, not opinions.
“Now I exhort you, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that you should all speak in agreement, and that there should not be divisions among you, but that you may be fitly united in the same mind and in the same line of thought” (1 Cor 1 v.10)
Im here if you want to ask anything further.
All the best
