Question I was diagnosed in 1987 with CFS this came after an extreme virus bout. I have since developed Fibro and MPS. I take almost all of the minerals and vitamins you list in your answer to the question preceding already plus mega doses of amino acids. I cannot take some of the herbs however due to HBP. I need to get my leg muscles back, it is getting critical due to the pain which is constant. Right now I am trying to find a natural beta blocker to get rid of my prescription one. It is making a big contribution to my pain problems. Naturopaths are very hard to find in this area, NC is not alternative friendly. I found the vitamins helped for a while but now I do not know if I need to up them again or try something different. I know this is complicated but I need an answer bigger than I have been finding. I shake sometimes so even trying to drive can be a challenge when it happens. Got any Ideas?
Answer Hello,
I do have some ideas. First, it sounds like you have a complicated clinical picture. Instead of thinking one treatment vs. another maybe consider forming an integrative treatment team formed of a medical doctor that is willing to explore alternatives, a chiropractor, a massage therapist, a personal trainer, and a stress/anxiety counselor.
I'm going on a few assumptions here so I apologize if it totally misses the mark.
Initially these diagnoses can be a relief. They give you a name to your pain. But shortly afterward they lose their luster. They become labels that effectively lock a person in their current health status. Think of your diagnoses as being fluid, changeable.
How would you go about improving your situation?
First start with the basics of health.
Breathing - Practice deep breathing. Oxygen is the most important need your body has!
Water - >64 oz a day
Sleep - 9pm to 6am daily
Food - Lean protein, fruit and veggies at every meal, whole grains, whole foods (not processed) whenever possible, lean dairy.
Exercise - Get mild to moderate exercise 3-4 days a week.
Meditate - 3 times a day close your eyes. Deep Breath and visualize yourself healed. The mind/body connection is strong. If you visualize it, it will make it more likely to happen. Focus your mind in the areas that are sore. Focus on the area until you feel a tingle. That tingle is healing. Visualize it and it will happen.
Start doing these things first. Without them you can't expect health in other areas. These are REQUIREMENTS TO HEALTH.
Once you've been doing each of these things daily for three weeks contact me again.
