Question
hi there, how many quarts off transmission fluid is needed to fill a 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo 6 cylinder 4x4 transmission,i had just finished installing it,its empty cause i drained the converter and oil pan,

Answer
Hi Andy,
My guess would be 9 quarts. I would suspect that an oil change shop would know the capacity of the transmission, so try calling one of those places. Maybe even an autoparts store will know. You could try going to www.autozone.com and see what they list on that website.
Most of the Chrysler electronic (type 41) transmissions run about 9 quarts and also recommend only using ATF +4 type fluid; never use DEXRON type.  As is I explain on the home page, I don't have any manuals for Jeeps and don't claim any expertise for Jeeps.
But I suspect the Jeep line uses the same autotrans as the Chrysler.
But check it out as you don't want to overfill it.
