Question
QUESTION: My check engine light comes on and here lately, when I start the van, the headlights, power windows, radio, A/C, and panel lights don't work.  I found something that told me to unhook the negative battery cable to temporarily fix the problem, which turns off the check engine light and works for a few days.  I can't remember the name of the part that needs to be replaced to fix the problem for good.  If I remember correctly, it was some kind of solder connection that was bad.  Can you help me please??

ANSWER: need the codes for the check engine light  and  u did not fix the issue  u just made it go away for a few days  it almost will always come back.

QUESTION: The only code I ever receive is 1684.

Answer
u erased the codes when u did the check engine light  so now u haft to wait until it does it again and then get the codes   u never undo the battery until u know it fixed u just might have lost your best chance to figure out whats wrong the first time.
