I don't have detailed information (e.g. manuals) nor expertise for Jeeps, trucks, SUV's, import vehicles, or for years more recent than 2000 (except Sebring/Stratus I have '03).
I am available to take a question between 8AM CT and 9PM CT, and attempt to provide an answer within 1 hour. Question QUESTION: Hi Roland I looked through your answers yesterday, the battery goed dead overnight. I pulled hoood,trunk and glove lights. still same. If i pull fuse #2 courtesy lights etc the battery stays at 13 volts in the morning and starts, i noticed when I pulled #2 the tack does not work, I do not have the digital dash model, straight 4 door with a 3.0, The car only has 30,000 miles, and a JVC sterio. I am a mechanic and have the snap-on diagrams but they are not to good. Any ideas? Thank You Mike
ANSWER: Hi Mike,
I am a bit confused because of fuse numbering. My shop manual shows that courtesy lights are powered by #13 under the dash. #2 is a circuit breaker for the power windows, as shown in my manual.
Or are you referring to a fuse in the power box? Those are numbered by a circuit contact id number so maybe lets agree to call #1 the fuse nearest the fender and go from there. #2 in the power box powers #3,21,22 under the dash. Have you tried to measure the current draw thru the battery while individually removing the fuses in the power box? And which ones cause a significant drop in the "draw" when you remove it?

QUESTION: Hi Roland, I pulled the courtesy light fuse under the dash it is numbered 2 on the fuse cover. I have no draw when this is out. If i plug it in a hear what sounds like an electrical motor running for about 5 seconds in the center of the dash. thought i would ask you before i pull radio out to find out what it is. Thanks
ANSWER: PS The M1 circuit in question has a pink wire. The radio supply is mainly used to maintain the radio presets. It is on pin 7 of the gray plug.

Sorry, I missed the "4 door", assumed it was a convertible. The #2 powers the time delay relay (in the relay block to the left of the steering column), glove box, radio electronics, trunk, dome, vanity, door, map, underhood, trip computer, cluster, illuminated entry. power mirrors, and overhead console. I would look for something related to the radio or any of the above. Let me know what you find, please.

QUESTION: Hi Roland, I took out every bulb in the car and the radio, 6 hours battery went to 10 volts, what does the time relay do and do you know how to test it? Thanks Mike
Answer PS: Correction:the time delay relay is responsible for keeping the ignition key halo light illuminated for 20 or so seconds after you close the driver door. There is also a timer circuit on the illuminated entry module' which does what I described below. That module is located on the right side of the dash, behind the glove box. You remove the glove box to reach it. So those are two possible sources of drain. You might want to unplug the instrument cluster and overhead console, if those don't show to be the problem.

It maintains the interior lights "on" for about 30 seconds as a courtesy after you leave and maybe after you enter the car.
