I take questions about domestic Chrysler-product front wheel drive cars and minivans for the years 1982-2000 based upon my experience and shop manuals. I don't have detailed information (e.g. manuals) nor expertise for Jeeps, trucks, SUV's, import vehicles, or for years more recent than 2000 (except Sebring/Stratus I have '03).
I am available to take a question between 8AM CT and 9PM CT, and attempt to provide an answer within 1 hour. If I am shown as "maxed out" try again later in the day as I add question opportunities one at a time so as to respond quickly, but I do have other responsibilities as well so may not be available for several hours at times. Try at 7PM CST as I will always be available for one question then.

Experience
I have been a do-it-yourself auto hobbyist for 5 decades, and most recently have been concentrating on the various Chrysler Corporation domestic front wheel drive cars and vans. I have shop manuals and wiring diagrams for many models for the years '83-'00, as well as rear wheel drive cars for the early 80's. I enjoy analyzing problems that other Chrysler enthusiasts are having and sharing my information.

Hi Roland, I have a 1995 Labaron convertible in great shape and with just 78,000 miles. The drivers power seat would not work anymore so I took it to the Chrysler Dealer. They said I needed a new motor for the power seat as this motor burned out and at a cost of over $500. Needless to say I can live with out a power seat at that price. I like woking on my car so I took the control panel apart in the door and I actually had the seat move a little in several positions. So the motor was not bad. I tried several times and I made some headway, but now I have it stuck in a position that I cannot bring it forward. To me it seems to be in the brass looking grid that is in the door control. Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. By the way I went back to the dealer and complained about the $90 fee they charged for telling me to purschse a new motor and they refunded my money. Thanks, Dave

Hi David,
I haven't looked into the power seat of the J-body personally, but if by "brass looking grid" you mean the control switch, then I do have a couple of pages from the '94 manual that show how to test the switch function using a continuity or ohmmeter to test its contacts. If that is what you need, let me know a postal mailing address and I will xerox and postal mail you those pages. You may be able to fix the switch by spraying some electronic contact cleaner inside of it. Use the "thank and rate" tab to enter a postal mailing address in the comments area.
