AboutRoland Finston Expertise I take questions about domestic Chrysler-product front wheel drive cars and minivans for the years 1982-2000 based upon my experience and shop manuals. I don't have detailed information (e.g. manuals) nor expertise for Jeeps, trucks, SUV's, import vehicles, or for years more recent than 2000 (except Sebring/Stratus I have '03).
I am available to take a question between 8AM CT and 9PM CT, and attempt to provide an answer within 1 hour. If I am shown as "maxed out" try again later in the day as I add question opportunities one at a time so as to respond quickly, but I do have other responsibilities as well so may not be available for several hours at times. Answer PS I sent the pages this morning, sorry for the delay. We are having a heat wave on the west coast so it was a dis-incentive to going out.
If you can't get the compressor to fire up, which is necessary to fill the system, you can jump between the dark blue/yellow and black/light blue wires of its plug (pins A and C). It is located in the hose near the compressor.

Thanks for the kind rating and nomination. I will copy 5 pages to be sure you have all the aspects of the system, and mail it to you. When you receive the material, if you would send me back a couple of 42 cent stamps to cover my cost that would be appreciated. The thermocouple/temperature reading issue while relevant might be something you could do by touch, at least if you can catch the pressure at the moment you feel the tube is about your own body temperature, as a good point of reference. Otherwise, maybe an instant read thermometer attached firmly to the tube will be approximately correct for higher temps.

Hi Thomas,
You need a kit that includes the hose connections, ideally a pressure gauge, and possibly a temp gauge so as to measure the pressure and temp after adding a can. Depending upon how much has to be added you also will want to add some compressor lubricant. There should be instructions with such a kit. If not, it is detailed enough a procedure that I find it easier to xerox copy a couple of pages from the manual and postal mail them. So investigate what the local parts stores have in the way of kits, see if the instructions are adequate, and if not let me know and I will send the pages to you.
