Chrysler Repair - 1994 Chrysler New Yorker Spark Plug Wires

Expert: Roland Finston - 10/31/2009

Question
What is involved in changing the spark plug wires?  Does the entire intake manifold have to be removed?  Can they be fed underneath?

Answer
Hi Jodie,
No, the wires can be removed without taking out the manifold, and yes they are fed from underneath. You want to be very careful of the fuel rail which is quited delicate so don't get it involved in the process. There is a one page description on the proper technique for the 3.5L engine if that is what you have. The 3.3L appears to not be as challenging so there is nothing more than just being sure to remove the cap off the plug by pulling straight out after first rotating it on the plug.
I can xerox and postal mail you the page that I mentioned. Just give me a postal mailing address.
Roland
