Chrysler Repair - 2001 Caravan with heater issues

Question
I was driving with the temperature control off.  All of sudden I heard the blower turn on and it was really warm in the van.  The blower works fine, but everything else on the control doesn't work (A/C, rear defrost, temperature and where it blows).  I tried to replace the control with a used one and it did the same thing.  Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Mike,
Check fuses 14,19,20,24 in the power box in the engine compartment. Those all supply power to the body control module which in turn powers the HVAC controls. See if one might either be blown or have a subtle crack in its internal wire (or check with a continuity tester/ohmmeter). Let me know if you find them all to be good, and also tell me whether the controller is a manual temp type controller or an automatic (digital) temp controller.
Roland
